SIH Sports Rehabilitation Hosts 8th Annual SIH Coaches Clinic on March 28

CARTERVILLE – Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) Sports Rehabilitation invites local coaches to join the 8th Annual SIH Coaches Clinic on Friday, March 28, at Legends at Walker’s Bluff. This free event is designed to provide continuing education, hands-on learning and networking opportunities to coaches at all levels, from junior high and high school to collegiate and recreational leagues.

The clinic offers four Continuing Professional Development Units (CPDUs) for teachers who also coach. Thanks to generous sponsorships, attendees will enjoy complimentary breakfast and the chance to engage with peers and enhance coaching and athletic safety.

Featured Speakers & Sessions

Keynote Speaker: Charlie Jones, head girls’ basketball coach at John A. Logan College, will deliver an inspiring talk titled “Dreams Do Come True.”
Strength & Conditioning Workshop: Coach Meade Smith and the Southern Illinois University strength and conditioning team will lead a session on “Getting the Most Out of Your Warmup,” followed by hands-on demonstrations.
First Aid for Coaches: SIH’s Brad Brush, certified athletic trainer, will conduct a practical session on sideline first aid essentials, including injury response and prevention techniques.
Expert Roundtable Discussion: Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with all speakers, including Dr. Scott Schonewolf, director of the SIU School of Medicine Sports Medicine Fellowship in Carbondale, addressing key topics in sports safety and performance.
