CENTRALIA, IL — Centralia City Manager Galen Mahle has resigned from the Centralia High School Board due to a conflict of interest. Both the city and school attorneys identified concerns over his dual roles, as interactions between the city and school could create potential conflicts. Mahle, who served 16 years on the board, expressed pride in the school’s resilience during financial struggles and its expansion of key programs. The board will accept his resignation, and then begin discussions about appointing a new member.
