SALEM, IL — A lengthy investigation has led to the arrest of a local man who now has been charged with a Class 4 felony for improper passing of an emergency vehicle. 22-year-old Andrew Peak of Salem, is accused of driving around a stationary fire truck on State Route 37 back on October 18th, colliding with a pickup truck and injuring two people. The crash involved a firefighter’s truck, driven by a 17-year-old Salem woman, and injured 25 year old Logan Wood of Odin. Both were treated for minor injuries, along with Peak, who was also treated at the scene. Peak is now scheduled to make a court appearance on January 15th.
