INA – Two people were arrested Thursday on Jefferson County warrants, each for Child Pornography.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Tyler J. Stover and 25-year-old Julie R. Bulthuis were arrested at 511 S. Cross St. in Ina. They were taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where they were lodged to await their appearance at a pre-trial detention hearing.

The investigation was initiated after a complaint was made to the Mt. Vernon Police Department on July 1. It was determined the allegations originated in Ina, so the sheriff’s office was contacted to assist, and sheriff’s office detectives took over the investigation. Search warrants were obtained and executed at the same Ina home on July 2, where evidence was obtained and submitted for forensic analysis. The investigation revealed evidence of criminal activity, which also involved a victim who was a juvenile family member. Once completed, the investigation findings were forwarded to the States Attorney’s office for formal charges and the arrest warrants were issued.
