MOUNT VERNON — An incident Wednesday afternoon backed up traffic on Potomac Boulevard in Mt. Vernon when a man stood in front of a Greyhound bus that was heading southbound on the roadway.
According to Mt. Vernon’s acting police chief Robert Brands, the man became upset when he missed the Greyhound bus he was supposed to be on when it left earlier than he’d expected.
Chief Brands says the man then decided to block the next bus leaving the Potomac Boulevard bus station.
Mt. Vernon police officers arrived at the scene and the man ultimately decided to grab a ride with a truck heading in the same direction. The Greyhound bus was able to get back on the road with a slight delay.
