CENTRALIA — Paula Maltman, 66, of Centralia, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 19th, 1958 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Everett Anglen and Sarah Pauline (Manion) Anglen. She married Robert Maltman on March 30, 1985 in Centralia, and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2023.
Paula is survived by her loving daughter Sarah Sprehe and husband Chad of Centralia; son James Malman and wife Nikki of Centralia; grandchildren Sierra Malone, Colton Maltman, Mackenzie Maltman, Shianne Gambill, Zach Maltman, Ritchey Maltman, Maile Nagai, and Stormie Maltman; brother Donald Anglen of Centralia; brothers-in-law Wayne Maltman of Marion, and Phil Ball, Sr. of Centralia; niece and nephews Kim Ball of Centralia, Phil “Jr” Ball, Jr. and wife Becky of Centralia, Dale Anglen, Jr. and wife Jackie of Lockport, NY; as well as special friends Dreva Rutherford, Crystal Taylor, and Tammy Myers.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, spouse Robert Maltman, brothers Dean Anglen, Dale Anglen, sister Barbara Ball, and father and mother-in-law William and Mardell Maltman.
Paula was a hardworking individual and held various positions at Woolworth’s, Priced Right Foods, and North American Lighting throughout her career. Her hobbies were crocheting, gardening, and listening to music. Paula lived her whole life in Central City. She always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She loved her family, grandchildren, and fur babies Matte and Ruger. She loved to make big meals for the holidays and making your favorite meal and cake/dessert for your birthday. Paula will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. The Funeral Service will take place on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.
