ALEXANDER COUNTY — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash Tuesday afternoon on Illinois 3 in Alexander County.

According to preliminary information from Illinois State Police, troopers responded to the crash scene on southbound Illinois 3 just north of Reiman Road at 2:45 p.m.

A black Toyota pickup truck was going southbound on Illinois 3 when for an unknown reason, it crossed into the northbound lane and struck a white Lexus sedan head-on.

Two deaths were reported. Their names have not been released.
