WOODLAWN — Brett Andrew Garrison, 48, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 7:08 am January 19, 2024 at Kindred Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.

He was born April 15, 1975 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to James W. and Donna (Denning) Garrison.  Brett is survived by his mother, Donna Garrison of Mount Vernon; fiancée, Vicki Tinsley of Woodlawn; brothers, Brian Garrison and wife, LeeAnn of Woodlawn, James Kevin Garrison of Ashley, Illinois, and Justin Garrison of Mount Vernon; step-grandson, Benjamin Baker of Woodlawn; aunt, Nikki Moore of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; uncle, Lonnie Denning of Carterville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Brett was preceded in death by his father, James W. Garrison. Brett enjoyed traveling, especially to the state of Oregon. He loved going to concerts and was always the life of the party. Brett was a generous, loving man and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm Pastor David Houseworth officiating.
