DIX, Ill. — Craig Patterson, 56, of Dix, Illinois, passed away at 12:48 pm December 28, 2023 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

He was born December 28, 1967 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Donald and Shirley (Forehand) Patterson. Craig married Crystal “Crissy” (McKay) Patterson on February 21, 1991. They were blessed with nearly 33 years of marriage.

Craig was the beloved husband of Crissy; devoted father of Katelyn Legere and husband, Phillip of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Kelsey Patterson and fiancée, Jason Hoffman of DuBois, Illinois, and Cassidy Hodge and husband, Shawn of Mount Vernon; cherished “Pop” of Knox Legere, Emerson Hoffman, Hayes Legere, Cade Hodge, and Baby Hodge that is expected to arrive soon; dear brother of Kevin Patterson and wife, Monica of Richview, Illinois, Terri Patterson of Centralia, Lisa Patterson of Centralia, and Kristi Patterson of Centralia; adored son-in-law of Dave and Lynn Flanagan; loving brother-in-law of Brian McKay and wife, Holly of Woodlawn; precious uncle of many nieces and nephews; and best friend of his beloved dog, Sadie.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. Jonathan Schnautz officiating. Interment will follow at Boyd Cemetery in Boyd, Illinois.
