JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard and Mt. Vernon Police Chief Trent Page recently presented a $1,500 scholarship donation for students in the Criminal Justice program at Rend Lake College.

Ron Meek, now in his 14th year instructing students in the program, said the scholarship has been awarded for a dozen straight years and is funded by money seized in drug convictions. He added that the ongoing scholarship has helped many students succeed in the program over the years.

RLC offers an Associate of Arts and Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice, along with short-term certificates in Police and Corrections, and Private Protection. To learn more visit rlc.edu/programs.
