A 33-year-old Clay City man was formally charged Monday in Clay County Court with sexually abusing two minor children.
According to Clay County State’s Attorney Phil Givens, sheriff’s deputies arrested Kyle Gains over the weekend after taking a report from the mother of an alleged victim.
Gains was charged in court Monday with two Class 2 felonies for alleged aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Bond in the case was set at $40,000, with special conditions of release to have no contact with the two alleged victims or anyone under the age of 17. If released on bond he would also have to submit to house arrest with GPS monitoring.
Givens says additional charges could be filed in the case and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 11.
