WASHINGTON COUNTY –Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body in Washington County this week.

According to the Illinois State Police, the body of a deceased black man was discovered before 9 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Lunte Creek Road, west of Nashville, in Washington County.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department requested ISP’s help investigating the death and discovery. The victim was identified as 44-year-old Montez Pearson of East. Saint Louis, IL.

ISP DCI is leading this open and ongoing investigation. No additional information is being released at this time.
