PIOPOLIS, Ill. — Harold Otto Trausch, 92, of Piopolis, IL passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at McLeansboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in McLeansboro, IL.  Harold was born on June 19, 1931, in Piopolis, to his parents Frank & Louise Trausch.

Harold was a farmer and was known for being a hard worker.  He enjoyed tinkering with things and repairing various items, and he enjoyed fishing.  He loved to spend time with his friends & family.  He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis.

Harold is survived by 3 sisters: Eleanor Trausch of McLeansboro, Marcella Trausch of McLeansboro, and Margaret Ragan (and husband Richard) of Wayne City, IL; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by both parents Frank & Louise Trausch, 3 brothers: William “Bill” Trausch, Edward Trausch, and Paul Trausch; 6 sisters: Florence Michlik, Rosanna Trausch, Barbara Trausch, Eileen Salmon, Caroline Gunter, and Marie Hopkins; and a step-brother Vincent Trausch.

A funeral mass for Harold Otto Trausch will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, with Father Slawomir Ptak officiating.  Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m., with a Recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. immediately prior to the funeral mass.  Following the funeral mass, he will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Piopolis.
