Lyle’s greatest joy in life came from spending cherished moments with his beloved family. His children and grandchildren filled his life with meaning and purpose, bringing him immense pride and fulfillment. Family gatherings, from holidays to birthdays and milestone celebrations, were the source of his driving purpose. He could fill any room he walked into with his presence, sense of humor, and boisterous personality. Lyle cherished the bonds he had with his loved ones and made it a priority to create lasting memories with each and every one of them. He beamed with pride when sharing the accomplishments and memories of his children and grandchildren.
Lyle devoted many years to working as a diesel mechanic and Union Millwright, being a proud member of the Local Union 5129. His dedicated work ethic and meticulous attention to detail brought him dignity and gratification. Over the years, these skills contributed significantly to his achievements.
Apart from his family, Lyle had two great loves: hunting and the Dallas Cowboys.
The great outdoors served as Lyle’s sanctuary, providing solace and a deep connection to nature. Hunting and fishing were more than mere hobbies to him; they represented a profound way to immerse himself in the beauty of the natural world. Lyle passed on this love to his son and grandsons, creating lasting memories of learning patience, connecting with nature, and fostering camaraderie through hunting.
As an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Lyle’s loyalty and enthusiasm for his favorite football team knew no bounds. His love for the team and the sport brought him together with others, forging connections that extended beyond the football field.
Lyle embodied five core values that shaped his character: loyalty, spirituality, humility, compassion, and honesty. His unwavering loyalty to his family was a defining trait. He expressed gratitude to God each day for the blessing of his family. From a young age, Lyle’s parents instilled in him a deep reverence for God, which remained a central aspect of his life. He once remarked, “My family is my purpose, my entire world. I firmly believe that I am exactly where God intended me to be.”
Lyle exemplified humility and constantly acknowledged God’s grace for granting him the ability to work diligently and provide for his loved ones. His kindness and gentleness were evident in his interactions with others. Lyle instilled integrity as a fundamental value in his children, teaching them that one’s word is their bond; and that regardless of the circumstances, they should always strive to do what is right.
Furthermore, Lyle’s selflessness was immeasurable. His guiding philosophy was to give more to others than he gave to himself. This philosophy defined his character as a devoted provider. Whether it was assisting a neighbor in need, supporting a friend through hardship, or offering guidance to a stranger, Lyle’s compassion and generosity knew no bounds. He consistently went above and beyond to help others.
Lyle Brookman will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, faithful friend, assiduous craftsman, and passionate outdoorsman.
