Cheryl L. Huelskamp, 69, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 3:37 pm April 7, 2023 at home with her family by her side.

She was born December 7, 1953 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Everett and Merlene F.  (Lowery) Huston. Cheryl married Terry Huelskamp on October 14, 1995 in Belle Rive, Illinois. They were blessed with 27 years of marriage.

In addition to her beloved husband, Cheryl is survived by her sons, Daniel Heath Foster of Cincinnati, Ohio and Michael Gabriel Phifer of Nashville, Illinois; daughter, Brandy Lynn Foster-Gau and husband, Scott Gau of San Carlos, California; grandchildren, Savannah Foster and Sydney Foster, both of Cincinnati; brother, Michael D. Huston and wife, Deidre of Bluford, Illinois; sister, Lori Banes of Woodlawn; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her brother, Darrell G. Huston. Cheryl retired from Walgreen’s Distribution Center. She was a past member of the First Baptist Church of Woodlawn. Cheryl was an artist and enjoyed collecting and restoring old dolls. She was an avid sewer and quilt maker and loved gifting family with her work. Cheryl will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 10:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at East Salem Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
