CENTRALIA — Centralia police are investigating multiple shooting incidents that resulted in property damage but no injuries.
According to police, around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, CPD received several 911 calls about shots fired in the 200 block of North Lincoln. Officers responded and spoke to witnesses in the area. A short time later CPD received a call from a victim stating their vehicle was shot. This vehicle was processed by the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit. The vehicle owner’s son who was driving the vehicle at the time of the shooting refused to cooperate with the police.
Then at 11:33 p.m. Sunday, April 2nd police received several 911 calls about shots fired in the area of 5th and Elm. Officers responded to the area and were able to locate evidence of a shooting. Officers spoke to several subjects and unfortunately at this time, no one has come forward to provide information about this shooting.
Finally, on Monday, April 3rd, the Centralia Police Department received a call from a resident in the 400 Block of South Sycamore stating they discovered a bullet hole in their residence. Officers responded to the scene, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit was contacted and processed the house. Centralia Police detectives determined the house was in direct sight of where evidence was recovered from the 5th and Elm shooting on Sunday night.
