MT. VERNON, IL — Jefferson County Historical Society is hosting their annual chili luncheon fundraiser Thursday, February 23rd, from 11:00 am. until 1:30 pm. The luncheon will be held at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building in Veterans Memorial Park in Mt. Vernon. Choices are chili and crackers or a pork loin sandwich and chips with a drink and dessert for $11.00. This year the luncheon will be dine-in or carry-out.
The money raised benefits the Jefferson County Historical Society and supports activities, programs, and exhibits. The JCHS is a nonprofit organization which relies on the support from the community.
“Our chili luncheon is one of our biggest and most fun events of the year and we look forward to seeing new faces and our friends who support us year after year. A bake sale will also be featured this year, so stop by and pick up some goodies”, Dana Uhls, Community Relations Specialist.
