CENTRALIA — Centralia High School students in the Life Skill Intro to Industry class have completed a big project and they’ll be auctioning off the final product.

The students created an American Flag out of recycled pallets and other recyclable materials. They cut, glued, and sanded the boards into a single, solid board. They then used a saw guide to cut grooves into the material for the stripes and the blue field before taping, priming and painting the flag.

The students drilled holes and fastened dowel rods into each corner of the flag for added support. The entire project took around four weeks to complete.

The students decided to donate half their proceeds from the auction to the veteran’s charity K9s for Warriors.

The other half of the proceeds will provide the students with a guided experience outside of school where they can put their life skills to use.

You can place your bid online by following this link to the CHS auction.

The online silent auction will end on President’s Day February 20, 2023.
