RAMSEY, Ill. — Lily”Dorothy” Davis, 91, of Ramsey, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022.

Dorothy was born March 5, 1931, in Decatur, the daughter of Willis and Hattie (Hill) Groves. She married Doyet Leon Davis in Decatur on July 3, 1953, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children: Paul Hebenstreit and wife Karen, Dean Davis and wife Brenda, Ben Davis and wife Marilyn, and Jeff Sutton and wife Jackie; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters Lucy McClellan and husband Judd and Rosie Sowers and husband Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister: Evelyn Sowers, one brother: Alva Groves, and 4 grandchildren.

Dorothy was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She loved to help with church functions and dinners. She was a fabulous mother and grandmother. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those that had known her.

Per Lily Dorothy Davis’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and a celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Oak Valley Pentecostal Church, 15205 Oak Valley Rd, Ramey, IL 62080.

Visitation will be held from 1 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 235 North Sycamore Street, Centralia, IL which is honored to be of service to the Davis family during their time of need.
