Darrell G. Huston, 67, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 5:20 AM on October 14, 2022 at St Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Darrell was born  in Mount Vernon to the late Everett E. and Merlene (Lowery) Huston. Darrell married Diane (Burnett) Huston on April 1, 1978 in Mount Vernon. In addition to his loving wife, Diane of 44 years, Darrell is also survived by his daughters, Danielle Huston and Rocky Page, Desiree Huston and Ronnie Myers all of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Kaycee, Kameron, Kailey, Remi, Ryan, and Brynlee; brother, Michael D. Huston and Deidre of Bluford, sisters Cheryl Huelskamp and Terry, and Lori Banes, both of Woodlawn as well as several nieces and nephews. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and son, Darrell Huston Jr.Darrell worked for Supervisor of Assessments Office of Jefferson County as the Property Tax Assessor for 27 years. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, enjoyed his family as they were very important to him. He also loved Nascar and watching Fox News.

A Visitation will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Hughey Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
