CENTRALIA — One person has been killed and another injured Monday morning in Centralia when a trench they were working in collapsed.

Just before 10 a.m. police, fire, and EMS were dispatched to the corner of Kerr and Poplar on a report of a trench collapsing on two workers.

Upon their arrival, first responders found one worker unconscious and the other still trapped.

But a few short minutes later they called for the coroner as one of the workers had died in the incident.
