Everett Wayne Beal, 93, of Dix, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at his home.
He was born December 12, 1928, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Roy and Ruby (Tinsley) Beal. On June 10, 1950, he married Viola Bandy, and she preceded him in death on February 15, 2000. He later married Mary Ann Riley Sanders on December 1, 2002, and she survives in Dix.
Mr. Beal was a farmer, and was a bus driver for 38 and a half years. He attended Forest Hill School, and Mt. Vernon Township High School, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Kell Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ann Beal of Dix, he is survived by three sons, David Beal and wife Elizabeth of Centralia, Gary Lee Beal of Texico, Mark Beal of Mt. Vernon; four step-children, Peggy Wilson, Donna Myers, Nancy Gilliams, and Dwayne Sanders; grandchildren, Jonathan Beal and wife Kerri of Hoffman, Joshua Beal of Mt. Vernon, Esther Taylor and husband Jim of Hoyleton, Sarah Newbury of Dix, Andy Beal and wife Kristy of Mulvane, Kansas, Heather Stukenbroeker and husband Robert of Collinsville, Tyler Beal and wife Mindy of Centralia, Jacob Beal and wife Andrea of Key West, Florida, and Matthew Beal of Centralia; twenty great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Effie Mae Austin and husband Chalon of Texico; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Beal of Mt. Vernon.
In addition to his first wife, Viola Beal, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Beal; and infant brother, Edwin Beal.
Funeral services for Mr. Beal will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2022, at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Rev. Jerry Montgomery and Rev. Henry Hall officiating. Burial will follow at East Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the funeral home.
