MOUNT VERNON — Margaret Ann Wills, 93, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Nature Trail Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon.
Ann was born November 22, 1928, in Charlottesville, Virginia, the daughter of Richard T. and Margaret E. Ergenbright.
She married John Seward Wills on June 16, 1951, in the chapel at the University of Virginia, and he survives her in Mt. Vernon.
Ann graduated from the University of Virginia. She w
as a self-employed seamstress for many years. She enjoyed traveling and attending at Wesley United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband of 71 years, she is survived by her children: John R. Wills and wife Tammy of Mt. Vernon, Jan Lacey and husband Jeff of Mt. Vernon, and Melinda Carmain and husband Mike of Kokomo, IN; grandchildren: Jonathon, Danielle, Brittany, Steven, Amie, Ryan, Ashleigh, Taylor, Kirsten, Dalton and Brooke; eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Beverly Ergenbright of Crozet, VA and Barbara Flynn of West Chester, PA; and nephew: Charles Ergenbright.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard T. and Margaret E. Ergenbright; her brother: Richard “Dick” Ergenbright; brothers-in-law: Richard Wills and James R. Flynn; and sister-in-law: Elizabeth Wills.
Funeral services for Margaret Ann Wills will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Joshua York. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Church.
