JEFFERSON COUNTY, IL — Dozens of people have reported feeling an earthquake in the area Monday night.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 2.5 magnitude earthquake was registered around 7:28 p.m. Monday with an epicenter approximately 4-miles northwest of Mt. Vernon.

No damage or injuries have been reported. The quake was initially reported at 2.3 magnitude but has since been changed to 2.5.
