FAIRFIELD, IL — Bond was set at $15,000 for a 27-year-old Norris City man arrested early Saturday morning in Fairfield on drug and weapons charges. According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by Levi Sork.

Officers ultimately determined they had probable cause to search the vehicle and reportedly located a plastic bag with a substance that field tested positive as methamphetamine. Deputies also reportedly located a stolen 9mm handgun underneath the driver’s seat of the vehicle, 9mm ammunition and also drug paraphernalia.

Sork was taken to the Wayne County Jail on preliminary charges of: Armed Violence, Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon, Unlawful Possession of Stolen Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon.
