(CARLYLE, IL) — A 29-year-old Trenton man was sentenced Wednesday in Clinton County Court to 13 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, after he pleaded guilty to multiple felony drug charges. Jarrod Goetter pleaded guilty to Class X felony possession of between 400 and 900 grams of methamphetamine, and was sentenced to 13 years in prison. Goetter also pleaded guilty to Class 2 felony possession of meth manufacturing material and Class 2 felony meth-related child endangerment. He was sentenced on each of the Class 2 charges to 7 years in prison, to be served concurrently with the 13 year sentence. Class X charges for aggravated manufacture of less than 15 grams of meth while a child present, and two counts Class X manufacture of between 400 and 900 grams of meth were dismissed per the plea agreement. The state has filed a motion seeking to have Goetter pay for the services of his court appointed defense attorney. Goetter has been in custody of the Clinton County Sheriff since his July 2015 arrest after deputies responded to a report of a suspected methamphetamine cook in Trenton. While speaking with the occupants of the residence, deputies reported a strong chemical odor coming from inside. A search warrant was executed and the Illinois State Police located an alleged meth lab in the basement of the home, and Goetter was arrested along with 26-year-old Ryan Haller, who entered a similar plea agreement last month and is now serving 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
