Cindy Lucille Blazier, 61, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 1:30 pm April 16, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born September 30, 1959 in Mount Vernon to the late Marvin and Thelma Sue (Tate) Richardson. Cindy married James Blazier on September 29, 1979. They were blessed with 41 years of marriage.
In addition to her beloved husband, Cindy is survived by her children, Angela Blazier, April Pitman, and Danny Blazier of Woodlawn; grandchildren, Dominic England, Jordan Hixenbaugh, Cheyanne Pitman, Brendon Pitman, Peyton Blazier, Maison Blazier, Klayton Blazier, Keegon Blazier, and Adyson Blazier; siblings, Duane Breeze, Marvin Richardson and wife, Heather, Kim Bevis and husband, Allen, Twila Gregory and husband, Mike, and Sylvia Thetford and husband, James; parents-in-law, James Blazier, Sr. and wife, Betty; sister-in-law, Debbie Hoyt and husband, Brent; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Patterson; and nephew, Kyan Richardson.
Cindy worked as a teacher’s aide at District 80 for over 20 years and was very passionate about her job. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved watching them play. Most of all, Cindy loved the time she shared with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and adored her.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Union Ridge Cemetery in Norris City, Illinois with Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Cindy’s honor to the American Cancer Society or to Special Olympics.
