WAYNE COUNTY, IL — One person was injured in a Thursday morning semi crash on I-64 in Wayne County.
According to Illinois State Police, 62-year-old John Peery of Louisville, KY was driving his semi with a trailer attached east on I-64, about a quarter-mile west of milepost 107, when he said he fell asleep, left the roadway and overturned in the median. Peery reported no injuries however, is passenger, 75-year-old Charles Copeland of Louisville, KY, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Peery was cited for driving while ill or fatigued and for improper lane usage.
