PANA, IL — The Christian County Coroner’s office says positive identification made on skeletal remains found Saturday in rural Pana are those of a missing Carterville man.

Coroner Amy Calvert Winans says Daniel T. Crosby’s remains were identified using dental records, help from their forensic pathologist, a dentist and archaeologist. Crosby’s family has been notified and appreciates all the various people and agencies that allowed them to finally get some peace.

Family and friends of Crosby have not had any contact with him since February 27th, 2020 when he was in Pana. Crosby was reported missing to the Carterville Police Department on March 18th, 2020.

Illinois State Police continue to investigate the events leading up to his disappearance and death.
