The children of Donna Tate are celebrating her amazing life, and her entrance into heaven, on Sunday, December 27th, 2020, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1938, in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota, the daughter of Glenn and Mabel (Nilep) Alm. On January 6, 1958, in Bremerton, Washington, she married Roger Tate, and he preceded her in death on November 22, 2018.

Donna was the epitome of a loving, dedicated, pastor’s wife. She loved God, her husband and their calling, and the people God brought into her life. She had the gift of encouragement, and one of her ministries was to send hundreds of cards to make people feel special. She loved buying and wearing jewelry, but her special joy was loving every one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tate  is survived by one son, Rheld Tate and wife Lori; three daughters, Rhonda Engler and husband Mark, Rhenda Forcum, and Rhenetta Tate; eight grandchildren, Christie Tate, Robin Rockel and husband Jed, Misty Besancon and husband Chad, Steve Forcum and wife Andrea, Jillian Mankey and husband Mark, Nichlaus Forcum and wife Nicole, Cheyne Newberry and wife Cassie, and Brittany Newberry; fifteen great-grandchildren, Flora Rockel, Elliott Rockel, Hunter Besancon, Ethan Besancon, Hayley Hann, Evalyn Forcum, Tate Forcum, Cole Forcum, Emma Forcum, Sophia Forcum, Mikayla Newberry, Logan Newberry, Jack Price, Brooks Price, and Riley Price; and her siblings, Duane (spouse Sonny) Alm, Darlene Alm (spouse John) Carlsen, and Dennis Alm.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one grandson, Gary Paul Newberry, Jr.; one great-grandson, Braylon Besancon; one sister, Doris Johnson; and one sister in law, Sharon Alm.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, a private family graveside service will be held, at Union Chapel Cemetery, with burial immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Rheld Tate to assist with funeral expenses, and will be accepted by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Dix, Illinois 62830.  Online condolences may be made at www.osbornfuneral.com, or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Gateway Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for their loving care of Mrs. Tate.
