Belle Embry Stewart, 97, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 11:20 pm December 21, 2020 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born June 5, 1923 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late William Owen and Gertrude (Lindsey) Embry. Belle married James Russell  Stewart on August 5, 1950 in Henderson, Kentucky. They were blessed with sixty-three years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 14, 2013.A Private Family Service will be held. Memorials may be made in Belle’s honor to First United Methodist Church or Angels on Assignment. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time.
