Janette Alvis, 100, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 8:48 am December 22, 2020 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born December 14, 1920 in Bluford, Illinois to the late Claude and Rosetta (Maxey) Case. Janette married James Alvis on April 2, 1942. They were married nearly fifty-five years before he preceded her in death on January 4, 1997.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Bluford, Illinois. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Janette’s honor to Oakdale CemeteryPlease remember to observe social distancing at this time. We are limited to 10 people in our building at a time.
