OLNEY, IL — 33-year-old Tara N. Haws of Olney has been arrested in connection with the murder of an Olney man on Sunday. According to ISP, they responded early Sunday morning to an area in Olney in reference to a homicide investigation.

They say 19-year-old Kyle M. Johnson was found in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

On Thursday, an arrest warrant for First-Degree Murder by Accountability was issued through the office of Richland County State’s Attorney Charles Bradley Vaughn for Haws. She is being held in the Richland County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Rick A. Meador, a 19-year-old male of Olney, IL is still wanted in connection to the murder of Johnson. ISP DCI Zone 8 officials caution the public – Do not approach Meador as he is considered armed and dangerous. Meador is described as a white male, approximately 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighing approximately 155 pounds, with brown hair.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Meador should call law enforcement immediately.
