William “Bill” W. Martin, Jr., 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 4:05 am August 13, 2020 at the Mount Vernon Residential Living Center. He was born September 13, 1934 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late William W. and Melba I. (Balsover) Martin, Sr. Bill married Elaine (Willie) Martin on November 20, 1953 in Mount Vernon. They were blessed with nearly 44 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on August 20, 1997.

A Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. The Jefferson County Shrine Club Walkthrough will begin at 3:00 pm with the Funeral Service immediately following. Reverend Merle Fullerton and Chaplain Ernie Collins will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

Memorials may be made in Bill’s honor to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
