Pamala Rossand Welty, 65, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 2:35 a.m. on June 7, 2020, at her home.
She was born on September 5, 1954, in Centralia, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Lena (Border) Cole. On July 21, 2000, in Mt. Vernon, she married David E. Welty, and he survives in Mt. Vernon.
Pamala was a payroll manager for Joy Global, Mining division. She graduated from Centralia Grade and High schools. She attended Richview Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for 5 and 6 year old children.
Pamala enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers, shopping trips, and reading. She would read 2 to 3 books a week. She cherished quality time with her granddaughter Emma.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Christina Russell of Dix, Ron Welty of Fort Worth, Texas, and Paula Hargis and husband Chris of Petersburg, TN; two grand children, Emma Bridges of Union Town, Ohio, and Bryant Smith and wife Ashley of Louisville, IL; one great grandchild, Wesson Scott Smith of Louisville, IL; her mother, Lena Cole; her mother in law, Thelma A. Welty of Flora, IL; two brothers, Charles Cook and wife Valarie of Broken Arrow, OK, and Floyd Cook and wife Lin of Fairview Heights, IL; two sisters, Grace Carey and husband Boyd of St. Charles, MO, and Rhonda Borgman and husband Doug of Ashley, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Cole; father-in-law, Elza Welty; and a brother-in-law, Reggie Welty.
