JEFFERSON COUNTY, IL — The Health Department announced over the weekend the death of three additional COVID-19 positive residents of Green Tree Senior Living in Mt. Vernon. JCHD has also been notified of 3 additional positive cases of the novel coronavirus in county residents, two female’s one in her 50s while the other is in her 60s, as well as one male in his 20s.

To date there have been 90 lab-confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Jefferson County. Fourteen of these have resulted in deaths. Forty-seven of the positive cases have now been released from isolation. Jefferson County has a total of 609 total negative test results as of this morning.

Public Health officials expect more positive cases to be confirmed locally.
