CENTRALIA, IL — Centralia police have arrested a 19-year-old man who was being sought in connection with a shooting Friday that sent two men to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

According to Police Chief Greg Dodson, Dalton Garrison turned himself in Monday after Centralia police had been in contact with his family. The family reportedly cooperated in gaining Garrison’s compliance and ensured he was taken into custody without incident on three counts aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery. Garrison was taken to the Clinton County Jail where he awaits the formal filing of charges and setting of bail.

Police have identified a second subject allegedly involved in the shooting, 18-year-old Trevin Hendricks, also of Centralia. Anyone with information on Hendricks’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Centralia Police Department. Do not approach the subject as he may be armed and dangerous.

The shooting occurred around 3:17 p.m. Friday at an apartment in the 1700 block of West McCord in Centralia. Both victims transported themselves to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, one with two gunshot wounds and one with one gunshot wound. Both were ultimately transferred to St. Louis area hospitals for treatment.
