MARION, IL — The city of Marion is suspending programming at the Marion Senior Center starting Monday.

Marion mayor’s chief of staff Cody Moake said in a release that the senior center’s programs are suspended until further notice. To-go meals will be provided and patrons are still encouraged to call ahead for ordering and pick-up procedures.

Moake says there are no current confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Marion, but the city is taking every precaution and consideration into account as they plan for potential changes in the near future. The city has increased the frequency of de-sanitization cleanings.

City officials are asking that if you are sick to stay home and see your medical service provider for further instructions. Anyone should be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to normal practices after an illness.

The city will monitor the situation closely and provide more updates as needed.
