WEST FRANKFORT — A West Frankfort man died after being hit by a motor vehicle just after 6 Monday night at the intersection of Route 37/South Logan Street and West Oak Street in West Frankfort.
West Frankfort Police Chief John Prudent says when officers arrived, they found 60-year-old Kendal Eugene Beard lying in the roadway with severe injuries.
West Frankfort Fire Department Paramedics arrived on scene, performed emergency medical treatment and took Beard to Herrin Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Accident Reconstruction Officer responded to the scene to conduct the crash investigation. No charges have been filed in the case. West Frankfort Police continue to investigate.
