Larry Helpingstine, 88, of Ina passed away on Thursday evening, December 12, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Marion.

He was born in Centralia, IL on May 15, 1931, the son of Ralph & Irene Helpingstine.

He married Alice Helpingstine on August 16, 1988 in Paducah, KY she preceded him in death on September 7, 2010.

Mr. Helpingstine proudly served during the Korean War in the Air Force from December 4, 1951 to December 3, 1955.

Mr. Helpingstine was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Daughter-in-law-Juanita Helpingstine, an infant Grandson: Michael DeWayne Helpingstine & by a Brother: Herbert Helpingstine.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 15th at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina. Burial with Military Rites conducted by the Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141 will be in the Smith Veterans Cemetery in Belle Rive, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, and after 1:00 P.M. on Sunday.
