BENTON — The Benton City Council dealt with wastewater treatment plant funds at its meeting Monday night.

According to another media outlet, the council approved a resolution to amend the distribution of wastewater treatment funds. The city will take $40,000 from this fund and use it toward debt reduction and $15,000 would be used as a “pro-active” stance on sewer infrastructure projects. The council also approved amending the sewer surcharge.

We contacted Benton City Hall earlier this week regarding the council’s action on these items. Our calls and emails were not returned.
