WEST FRANKFORT — The West Frankfort City Council Tuesday night awarded a contract to Fager McGee Commercial Construction Company to remodel the new City Hall building located at 605 West Main.

Banterra Bank donated the building to the city earlier this year.

According to another media source, the city council tabled this issue at their last meeting because there was a difference of about $42,000 between Ross Construction and Fager McGee. Ross’s bid was $46,700 and Fager McGee’s was $88,755. The city awarded the contract to Fager McGee because Ross Construction didn’t bid on several components to remodeling City Hall.

Since the new City Hall was a bank, an office and council chambers will have to be built. Painting and electrical work will also have to be done.
