SESSER — Sesser city officials announced Friday that Sesser has been awarded a $74,000 Downtown Rehabilitation Grant for sidewalk improvements including changes to meet ADA guidelines, replacement of concrete, steps, handrails and much more.
According to a post on the City of Sesser’s Facebook page, the grant will be used for improvements on the south side of Franklin Street between Broadway and Walnut Street. This area is deteriorating and has been a dangerous section of downtown for decades.
Officials thanked Governor JB Pritzker, State Senator Dale Fowler, DCEO, Brown and Roberts Engineering, Bigler Law Office and City Staff for working hard on this grant.
