WILLIAMSON COUNTY — A Herrin man has been charged by indictment with unlawfully possessing over 50 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
U.S. Attorney Steven D. Weinhoeft announced Wednesday that 34-year-old Adam R. Walker committed the offense on May 1, 2019, in Williamson County.
Walker made his initial appearance in federal district court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty. He was ordered held without bond pending a Sept. 16, 2019 jury trial.
If convicted of the offense, Walker faces a maximum possible penalty of 5 to 40 years in prison, 4 years supervised release and a $5 million fine.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Marion Police Department.
