MARION — A couple of road projects are scheduled to get underway this week in Marion.

A pavement preservation project on the eastbound lanes of Route 13, from west of Main Street to east of Crab Orchard Road, will get underway Thursday, weather permitting.

According to IDOT, the project will consist of micro-surfacing, bump removal and fiber-modified asphalt crack sealing.

Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane during the day for the pavement preservation project.

You should use extreme caution through the work zone and be aware of speed reductions and traffic control devices.

Route 13/DeYoung Street at the intersection of Route 37 at the railroad crossing in Marion will close Wednesday morning at 8 for construction. The roadway will be closed until 5 p.m. Thursday.

You will need to seek alternate routes.
