CENTRALIA — The executions earlier last week of FBI search warrants in Centralia have resulted in the arrest Wednesday of a 47-year-old man for alleged meth-related federal crimes.
According to federal documents, an FBI task force made up of federal, state, and local law enforcement has been investigating David Herron for narcotics trafficking activities in the Centralia area and on multiple occasions this year, have reportedly made undercover purchases of controlled substances from Herron at two locations in Centralia.
Reports show that during a search of a residence where Herrod was staying, investigators reportedly found a gun and suspected narcotics that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
A convicted felon, Herron is legally prohibited from possessing a firearm. Herron was taken into custody on Wednesday and is next due in federal court at a 10 a.m. detention hearing on April 30.
The methamphetamine charge filed against Herron carries a penalty of 10 years to life imprisonment and at least five years of supervised release.
If convicted of possessing the gun in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, Herron faces an additional five years to life imprisonment, which by law must run consecutively to any sentence imposed on the other charges.
