MARION COUNTY — A 38-year-old Salem woman was formally charged Monday in Marion County Court with felony criminal damage to property for allegedly breaking out windows of her neighbor’s car when it slid on the snow and into her driveway.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, a neighbor of Leigh Ann Vandygriff had just pulled a vehicle out of the snow Sunday, but the vehicle slid on the snow and through Vandygriff’s driveway.
She reportedly told her neighbor that she would beat him with a baseball bat. It was reported that Vandygriff used the bat to smash the windshield and driver’s side windows of the neighbor’s vehicle.
The neighbor ultimately called the sheriff’s department and Vandygriff went inside her home where she was eventually arrested.
Vandygriff posted bond and was released from jail with special conditions to not have contact with her alleged victim or the victim’s property.
