CENTRALIA — Candidate petitions for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 2, 2019 were filed with the Centralia City Clerk during the filing period of November 19th thru November 26th.

The offices open for election are two offices for City Council and the office of Mayor. A primary election will not be necessary due to the number of candidates filing for the number of positions available.

On Friday December 7th, Council Candidate Ron Johnson filed a withdrawal of candidacy form with the City Clerk.

On Thursday December 13th, Council Candidate Ted Johnson also filed a withdrawal of candidacy form with the City Clerk.

Election Offices on Friday, December 14th as follows: Confirmation was received from each of the County Election Offices that William R. Harrell has filed as a City Council Write-In Candidate for the election as well.

The ballot will list the following candidates for Centralia mayor in this order: Vernell Burris, Bryan A. Kuder, Thomas J. Henegar and Howard Jones.

For the two four-year seats on the city council: incumbent William C. “Bill” Smith, Nicholas “Nick” Heath, incumbent David Sauer and Robert “Spanky” Smith.
