MARION COUNTY — A 26-year-old Centralia man was charged Wednesday in Marion County court with possession of nearly 15 grams of methamphetamine in connection with his arrest Tuesday by Centralia police.

Nathaniel Hegwood was charged Thursday with Class 2 felony possession of less than 15 grams of meth.

Centralia police arrested Hegwood after they stopped him for riding a 3-wheeler near Oak and Calumet streets.

Officers reportedly found four baggies on Hegwood containing approximately 17 grams of a substance that field tested positive as meth.

They also reportedly found a narcotic on him that he did not have a prescription for and drug paraphernalia.

A $35,000 personal recognizance bond in a Class 3 felony meth possession case filed against Hegwood in April was carried over to the latest case. He’s next scheduled to appear in court on November 20, on both cases.
