David R. Cox, 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 2:00 A.M.October 21, 2018 at Mount Vernon Health Care Center. He was born October 18, 1933 in Mount Vernon to the late Homer and Noma (Campbell) Cox. David married Sharon E. (Wilkey) Cox on January 3, 1976 in Mount Vernon.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Hughey Funeral Home with Reverend John Ashby and Reverend Robin Reynolds officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the American Society for the Prevention and Cruelty of Animals (ASPCA) or to the Cox Family, in care of Sharon Cox.
